Independent Advisory · AI-Enabled · Agentic-Leading

Strategy, governance and delivery — grounded in operator experience, not theory.

LNRD Ltd is the advisory practice founded by Paul Leonard. We help boards, operators and the AI companies serving them turn complex, capital-intensive decisions in energy and infrastructure into delivered outcomes — bringing 30 years of operator DNA from multi-billion-pound energy projects together with hands-on experience of AI-enabled software in regulated industries.

Our own practice is AI-enabled and agentic-leading — modern AI agents work under operator direction to widen and deepen research, broaden the optioneering set, and apply the consistency and traceability that regulated, board-level work demands. Backed by an extensive network of specialists in project governance, business transformation, financial modelling, planning & scheduling and procurement.

How we work.

AI-Enabled · Agentic-Leading

A single principal at the front — with modern AI agents at his back. LNRD’s own delivery model is AI-enabled and agentic-leading: agents work under operator direction to go wider and deeper on research, model a fuller optioneering set, and bring the consistency, traceability and compliance discipline that regulated, board-level decisions demand.

01 · Deep research

Wider evidence base, deeper read.

Agents canvas a broader corpus of regulatory, technical, commercial and market evidence than any single advisor could read alone — then surface what matters to the decision, sourced and structured.

02 · Rigorous optioneering

More options, properly stress-tested.

Agents help model a fuller set of viable options, scenarios and sensitivities — so boards and sponsors choose from a considered shortlist, not the first idea that sounded right.

03 · Compliance & consistency

Traceable, sourced, board-ready.

Every output is traceable to source, applied consistently across an engagement, and shaped to the regulatory and governance frameworks the decision lives within — ready for scrutiny, not just sympathy.

What we do.

Practice Areas

Four connected disciplines, one operator's perspective. We work where technical complexity, commercial structure and board-level governance intersect — where operator DNA matters more than theory.

Renewable Energy & Energy Transition

Project viability, bankability and delivery strategy across solar PV, BESS, SAF and biofuels — grounded in operator DNA, from concept through FID and into execution.

  • Technology & bankability assessment
  • EPC / PMC delivery strategy
  • Grid, DNO & HV interface risk

Complex Project Strategy & Delivery

FEED, EPC and EPCM contracting strategy; risk transfer; supply chain resilience; portfolio execution governance — delivered by someone who has sat on both sides of the table.

  • NEC 3 & 4, FIDIC and LOGIC frameworks
  • Portfolio & multi-site governance
  • Owner / contractor alignment

AI & Software for Regulated Industries

Strategic advisory for AI and software companies serving energy, infrastructure and other safety-critical, risk and asset-heavy industries. Commercial positioning, operating model and board governance.

  • Commercial & GTM positioning
  • Operating model & KPIs
  • Board & investor readiness

NED & Board Advisory

Non-Executive Director and Board Advisor engagements for PE-backed, growth-stage and mid-market businesses in renewable energy, infrastructure, clean tech and AI-enabled SaaS.

  • Independent challenge & governance
  • Audit & risk committee readiness
  • Capital allocation oversight
Operator DNA. When your board reviews a delivery programme, a contract structure or a supply-chain strategy, I don't just ask whether it looks reasonable on paper — I know whether it will work on site, because I've done it.
